There are many interesting questions revolving around macro changes in the environment of the Chinese system of higher education. The National Academy of Educational Administration (NAEA) reports directly to the Chinese Ministry of Education and is the national training arm for higher education administrators through China. NAEA and Texas A&M University's Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development (EAHR) have formed a multi-year partnership to develop research and training opportunities around all aspects of higher education administration. In the next few years, NAEA and Texas A&M will jointly explore topics such as: academic affairs, research development, student affairs management, university governance, curricular change, and policy in areas including promotion and tenure for example. EAHR and NAEA and representatives of Beijing University will conduct a research roundtable session that will focus on these issues and explore in detail: (1) Advancing University Research, and (2) New Dimensions in Student Affairs. Participants will discuss questions of interest and will develop a prioritized list of cooperative research questions for the future.
